Trash bag shelters here as well, cost pennies but can save your life too.

Can we have some sort of scale there please, CP? And I think you should reveal which newspaper you're using to make tents? Obviously that'll have an impact on the desirablity of the shelter.

Full size mock-up; that's a Karrimor Hot 30 rucsack by the porch.

It was to test the design of a tent, but you'll notice the tightness along the sides, and slackness on the top. Bent things do not form circular arcs, which is what the design assumed. When I realised that the analysis of anisotropic fabrics under load was a bit outside my engineering experience, I gave up. I did come up with a possible method of modelling it numerically, but decided a full-blown finite element analyis package was the way forward. At which point, I gave up again...

I think it was the Telegraph.

Well, it's very impressive. I guess the Telegraph would be a good optiongiven that it's just about the only daily broadsheet left. I do wonder though if a left wing newspaper would have given better results?

Of course for the more independent of you who like to get out in the sun, it would be better to use darker paper so you don't telegraph your position to other observers whilst wild camping.
I express ly] forbid any more [e]mails today on this subject!!

Hello there Doctor. So are you merely indulging in a bit of Sport, or purporting to be the Guardian of paper tent construction Standards?
