I have never been to Exmoor before and don't know it at all .... but about 10 of us want to go to a bunkhouse to some walking in October. Can anyonr recommend one?

Priority 1 is great location for walking, but a pub in strolling distance would be handy.

Any advice on accomodation, and indeed great walks, much appreciated

Hi Simonx - still down in the South West but on the other moor is Foxtor cafe and bunkhouse, Princetown

So not exactly what you're looking for, but as you've only had one response to Exmoor, have you considered Dartmoor as an option?, this could fit the bill as the walking is great and you've at least 2 pubs within a few hundred yards. I've not stayed in the bunkhouse but it looks clean and tidy and the cafe does great breakfasts.

    Simonx

The YHA have a converted school house in Covelly, Devon.

You can hire the whole place for a group of 10 people for (from) 515 for 2 nights.

    Still in Greenwich Simon?

Lynton/Lynmouth is beautiful and has pubs and also some fantastic walking up through the East and West Lyn valleys! There are YHA's in Lynton, Exford and Minehead. There is an outdoor centre near Simonsbath which may have a camping barn.
