I've got a 24 hour pass from Mrs F and I have decided to go over to Wales and have a run (well walk...ok crawl) up *THAT* route on Pen-Yr-Ole-Win. Just to show it I'm not scared of it so to speak.

Anyone got a free day and fancy going up and over onto the Carneddau...?

Alex - as you go up *that* route (I'll assume it's the same one that I refer to as *that* route), just be thankful that you aren't coming down in it the snow!! And smile!

Love to Alex BUT I'm off to portsmouth for a few Days R+R after finishing my dissertation yesterday....it reached monstrous proportions (14,150wds!!) even after some agressive editing.
    But enjoy it mate

Dissertations...bloody 'ell - I remember that malarky. Well, I should, it was only a few years ago. Managed to get mine up to 18,000 words - couldn't be arsed to cut it down, so managed to get away with a 4,000 words in appendices. Not that this has anything to do with the outdoors. Although I did write some of it in the garden. Well, it was more of a yard. But it was outside.

Erm, Anyway... went off on a bit of a tangent there - sorry - back to the topic at hand, so to speak. So, what's this route then, and why is it sounding so nefarious?

I'm off to Snowdonia this weekend with some mates, so it sounds interesting...

Last day of work for me tommorrow so can't make it, unfortunately

But I have got all next week in snowdonia at an outdoor centre with 30 youngsters doing climbing, canoeing, backpacking, mtn biking and horse riding. Should be a good week away from work (not sure about the horses though). Everyone have a good easter where ever you are.

    Hodge.

Straight up it from Oggie Cafe.

It's a bastard. But it'll be worth it. Pain is good.

Oi, since when was this MASOCHISMmagic?

We'll have no more talk like that on the site Mr Ford. Your perverse practices are your own affair, please don't implicate the rest of us...

Hmmmm South Ridge. Horrid. Still it's worth it (and I *don't* mean that in a masochistic sense).

Ohhhh you love it. You all do.

    Pain is good.

That'll be my mantra tomorrow..."pain is good, I am alive. Pain is good, I am alive. Pain is good, I am alive."

You don't need to tell me about it, and I'm not even doing the bloody dissertation in this house. That's Mrs F's task in hand.

So that's from the end of Lake Ogwen furthest from Capel Curig aint it?

Personally I thought the walk from the other end of the lake was abad enough, but then someone mentioned that the other route was worse! I actually laughed out loud!

It was quite dull to start, so I made an executive decision and cut across to the right, where it was more scrambly. And more fun.

Top day out, fantastic views if a bit hazey, and very windy between the Carneddau tops.

    Understatement, I think.

Insanely windy between the tops on the Saturday, had to hit the deck at one point.

    much fun!

I know the path you mean now - saw it on saturday. Looks like a bit of a bugger. I'll have to give it a go next time I'm over there.
