    Trying to find cheapish B&B or even an apartment in Cortina as ourbase for Via ferrata, stayed there several times but always booked used the hotels listed on the Cortina web site......sooo......just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for B&Bs not listed on official web sites.....farmhouses and the like????

    On www.dolomiti.org there are sections under Cortina for farmhouse and apartments. Quite a list of B&Bs also. As you probably know it's not a notably cheap town and, unless someone comes in with an address for you, I think you'll be pushing it to get cheaper than B&Bs. Agriturismo is not usually all that inexpensive.

    Have you considered staying in the refugios? Or somewhere else near Cortina? Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Have only stayed there once - just went to the tourist info place and got a cheap and excellent room. Have stayed elsewhere in Italy dozens of times - never needed or wanted breakfast provided as it is always so much better in a bar or pasticerria.
