I didn't do much except sit in the sun and read a paper on Saturday, but on Sunday I went to a gardening day at a botanic gardens followed by a trip to a beach for a play in this lovely sun we're having.

    What did you do?

Correct me if I am wrong but don't you live in Bangor. You have ALL of Snowdonia, NAY WALES on your doorstep and you went to a sodding Botanical Gardens.

No, it was lovely! Pricked out lettuces, delivered compost in wheel barrows, cleared scrub, all in the glorious sunshine. The gardens are beautiful, but need volunteers to maintain them. Met lots of new people and chatted all day long, too. Lovely.

Going camping next weekend with a girl who I met at the last one (we did strimming together!)

Oh and we get lots of lovely home-made cake - always good. And the tropical house is great (there's bananas in there this year!) and the gardens' wire-haired terrier is great to play with

Anyway, what did you do Alex?

I had to babysit for my kids as my wife is currently deep in dissertation-land. As such I can't go to the hills till she finishes her degree. She simply has too much work to do to allow me to go and play.

I took them to Tamworth Castle on Friday and to see a mate on Sunday.

Well, it was more about getting out walking and climbing in the nice weather, even if, er, I didn't!

A triffid or a mother in law?

I went camping at Brotherswater on Saturday night and then on Sunday we went up High Street and back round via Thornwaite Beacon and Grey Crags (I thin it's called that). Excellent. Payback for struggling through the p*ssing rain most of the time! God, I'm unfit though.

I definitely not 'thin' (not after months of no exercise!), I 'think'.

I had a great day out in Snowdonia on Saturday took a group of novices up Carnedd Moel Siabod by the east ridge for a bit of easy scrambling/rough walking. Views were great even if a bit hazy and only wore a t-shirt all day
Sunday had a lazy day with a bit of shopping, football, beer and first BBQ of the year. Lets just hope this weather lasts.

Saturday: Recovered from monumental hangover. Went shopping. Wandered round aimlessly in the sunshine for a bit. Watched most of the Wales Ireland game and the first half of the England Scotland game. Then went and marshalled a scout night hike. Got home around 2ish.

Sunday: Caught up with some mates I haven't seen in a while. Then in the afternoon went to a local pub and sat in the beer garden with some mates, my sis and my 5yr old niece. Was very nice.

But in a different way to getting out into the hills.
