This Friday, 1st Nov, we are thinking of going up Tryfan (classic North Face) and onto the Glyderau (Bristly Ridge) and then across to either Y Gribin, or maybe even Y Garn. (It'd be nice to see off the top of it.)

Anyone up for a day walk out?

Alex - I have just got back from spending the week in Oxford trying to get my salary paid by the company I work for - this has now turned into both a civil AND criminal matter and as such I need to be available if needed by the boys in blue as this thing is BIG!

Due to this I will not be able to come, which makes me even more furious as I was looking forward to this.

Sorry about having to cancel at the eleventh hour, but even if I was to come along my mind would be elsewhere.

    -NEIl

BTW, I am reporting this matter to National Press level, SO you may even see me on BBC news soon!!!!!!!!!!!

I might see you there, tweaked right knee night biking last night and just waiting to see if it's going to calm down a bit.

I'm not quite as erm...."Alpine" as you Dave.

Jon...If you're there, you're there! Send me a text at the usual number tomorrow morning if you are coming but are delayed for whatever reason.

Neil and Jon...top move NOT coming today...Tryfan was not playing nicely! The North Ridge was ok, if a bit squally, but once I got to Adam and Eve, on the top it was HORRIBLE!

Wind, driving rain, stinging the old face...not fun!

Still I had the summit all to myself. I dropped down to the Bwlch...tried to look up and see Bristly Ridge OR the scree slope and then decided not to bother and go down into the Cwm and off to the bubbling fleshpots of Betws.

Still lovely to get out...Just what I needed. What's the term "Novacaine for the soul"?

Sounds good, sorry to have missed it. Knee is another casualty of mountain biking along with right shoulder, most of the skin on my shins and what used to be the top of my left thumb.

    Montain Biking...damned dangerous!

Actually despite the rain and howling wind it WAS fun.

It's kind of confirmation that you're alive really and there's something quite grounding about realising how big the weather is, if you know what I mean. The cake always tastes better too...

For info, if it's really windy on the North Ridge of Tryfan, you can stay left of the crest for ages and keep relatively sheltered. It's not as interesting, but safer if things get really gnarly.

Actually it wasn't to bad going up...the wind wasn't that bad.

It was on the summit and the Far South Peak that the wind was at it's worst. And it made the boulder field in the way down to the Bwlch "interesting"!

did ordinary route on the slabs a while back, as we got started it was looking as though it might rain, then it started sleeting, at the time it was a case of "Why the f**p are we doing this?", but that night in the pub it was "that was great............................. just don't suggest doing it again for a while eh?"
