Walking poles in hand luggage with Ryanair?

    Hey,

I'm off to Morocco next week and looking at packing sensibly so wondered if anyone had experience taking their poles on in hand luggage? They're BD z poles so pack pretty small. Don't want to run the risk off customs being funny through the checking area....

    Thanks in advance...

Poles are potential weapons. I always put mine in my hold luggage.

Thanks Kate. I spoke to Ryan air who were, well, useless. Googled and found this which gave me clear direction in what you can and can't

Still, comforting that you're allowed to take your parachute into the cabin with you!

Make sure to pack them inside your pack, if possible. I had mine outside the pack, stuffed in the shovel pocket, and had to pay an additional 18euro to have it cling film wrapped before it could go in the hold.

No problem on Eurostar by the way, obviously not for Morocco but I take the train if walking in Europe.
