GR249/ walks & campsites near Malaga- recommendations?

    Hey all,

Just booked flights to Malaga for 1st week October- Got 7 days & I'd like to do a few days backpacking point to point with a tent- thinking part of GR249? But official camp sites seem few & far between... Any recommendations on a good section? Want to stay at official sites as I don't find sneaking about wild camping much fun on my own Or maybe a few nights at each of Nerja & El Chorro area doing day walks would be better?

    Very rocky terrain.
Tarp more use here where you can guy to trees and rocks.
Water only form irrigation channels....very dry area.
    Surface flowing water rare.
    A lot of water carrying.
Even Tenerife easier to backpack around as can come down and get water
    refills from cafes etc

Thanks for that, yeah I thought water might be an issue- another reason for wanting to stay on official campsites. Reckon day walks from a base would be more fun/ a lot less to carry then... any one with day walk recommendations for the area??

Yep, sadly I had to resort to day hikes here and used Nerja as the main base.
Started as early as I could on first bus and did long days with a LOT of water.
25 degrees every day end of March.
